Privacy Policy

  1. RIDGE inc (hereinafter the “Operator”) hereby establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”) regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, in connection with the services (hereinafter the “Service”) provided by the Operator.

1. User Information to Be Collected and Collection Methods

For the purposes of this Policy, “User Information” means information relating to the identification of users, behavioral history on communication services, and other information generated or accumulated in connection with the user or the user’s device, which is collected by the Operator under this Policy.
User Information collected by the Operator in the Service, depending on the method of collection, shall be as follows:

(1) Information provided by the user
The following information is provided by users when using the Service or through use of the Service:

  • Profile information such as name, date of birth, gender, occupation, etc.;

  • Contact information such as email address, phone number, and address;

  • Payment method information such as credit card information, bank account information, and e-money information;

  • Still images including the user’s likeness;

  • Information entered or transmitted by users through input forms or other methods specified by the Operator.

(2) Information provided from other services when the user permits integration
When the user permits integration with external services such as social networking services in using the Service, the Operator will collect the following information from such external services, based on the content to which the user consented at the time of such permission:

  • IDs used by the user on such external services;

  • Other information that the user has agreed to disclose to the integrated service according to the privacy settings of such external services.

(3) Information collected by the Operator when the user uses the Service
The Operator may collect information regarding access status and usage methods of the Service. This includes the following information:

  • Referrer;

  • IP address;

  • Information related to server access logs;

  • Cookies, ADID, IDFA, and other identifiers.

2. Purpose of Use

The specific purposes for which User Information is used in connection with the provision of the Service are as follows:

  • For registration of the Service, identity verification, user authentication, recording of user settings, calculation and billing of usage fees, and the provision, maintenance, protection, and improvement of the Service;

  • For measuring user traffic and usage behavior;

  • For distributing, displaying, and measuring the effectiveness of advertisements;

  • For providing information and responding to inquiries regarding the Service;

  • For responding to acts that violate the Operator’s rules, policies, etc. (hereinafter collectively “Rules”) concerning the Service;

  • For notifying users of changes to Rules and other important information concerning the Service.

3. Method for Requesting Suspension of Use

Users may request the suspension of collection or use of all or part of their User Information by configuring the prescribed settings in the Service. In such case, the Operator will promptly cease such use in accordance with the Operator’s procedures. However, for certain categories of User Information, collection or use thereof is a prerequisite for the Service, and in such cases, such collection or use will be stopped only when the user withdraws from the Service in the manner prescribed by the Operator.

4. Provision to Third Parties

The Operator will not provide personal information among User Information to any third party (including those located outside Japan) without the prior consent of the user. However, this does not apply in cases where personal information is provided to third parties (including those located outside Japan) as set forth below:

  1. When the handling of personal information is entrusted, in whole or in part, within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use;

  2. When personal information is provided as a result of succession of business due to merger or other reasons;

  3. When cooperation is necessary for a state organ, local government, or a person entrusted by them to carry out affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the user’s consent may impede the execution of such affairs;

  4. In other cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan (the “Personal Information Protection Act”) or other laws and regulations.

5. Use of Cookies

The Service may send text files called “cookies” to the user’s device storage, which may be stored and used. Cookies are used to improve user convenience, such as automatically entering required information when the user logs into the Service and displaying content in areas of interest to the user.
Users may configure their browsers to display a warning before receiving cookies and may refuse to receive cookies at their discretion. However, in such cases, some or all functions of the Service may not be available.
The Service uses Google Analytics to improve the website and application, and in connection with this, uses user information for such purposes. 6. Disclosure of Personal Information

When a user requests disclosure of personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, the Operator will, after confirming that the request is made by the user themself, promptly disclose such information to the user (or notify the user if such personal information does not exist). However, this does not apply if the Operator is not obliged to disclose such information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations. A handling fee of 1,000 yen per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

7. Correction and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If a user requests correction of personal information on the grounds that the personal information is not true, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, or if a user requests suspension of use of personal information on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the previously disclosed purposes of use or that it has been collected by deceit or other wrongful means, the Operator will, after confirming that the request is made by the user themself, promptly conduct the necessary investigation and, based on the results, correct or suspend use of the personal information and notify the user thereof. If the Operator decides not to correct or suspend use of the personal information, the Operator will notify the user thereof.

If a user requests deletion of their personal information, and the Operator determines that it is necessary to comply with such request, the Operator will, after confirming that the request is made by the user themself, delete the personal information and notify the user thereof.

If the Operator is not obliged to make corrections or suspend use, etc. of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations, the provisions of 7-1 and 7-2 above shall not apply.

9. Procedures for Changes to the Privacy Policy

The Operator may change this Policy as necessary. However, if a change to this Policy requires user consent under applicable laws and regulations, the changed Policy shall apply only to users who have agreed to the changed Policy through the methods prescribed by the Operator. When changing this Policy, the Operator will notify users of the effective date and contents of the changed Policy by posting it on the Operator’s website or by other appropriate means, or by directly notifying users.
